Richard Kidd, 31, blah blah, works for The Royal Society of Chemistry as a Production Manager on the abstracts databases Chemical Business NewsBase, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology Abstracts, and Chemical Safety NewsBase, with a bit of Mass Spectrometry Bulletin on the side. I also worked on Analytical Abstracts for a few years. They're all great, buy 'em.

The Royal Society of Chemistry, Thomas Graham House, Science Park, Milton Road, Cambridge CB4 4WF, UKA brief history: born and brought up (pal) in Leeds, did a degree in Chemical Engineering at Newcastle University (handy life hint: don't do Chemical Engineering). My final year project was to design a chemical plant to make adiponitrile via the electrohydrodimerization of acrylonitrile (whoops!), which, as you can imagine, set me up for life a treat. After that I worked in London for a year, then came to Cambridge to work for the RSC. But then I gave up on the classical acting, and went into database production.
I now live in Histon, Cambridge, UK, overlooking the duck pond. With music, chiles, looking after the fattest cat in Christendom and putting an end to...oh I can't be bothered. I also like films, but unfortunately Mike Leigh hasn't yet made a decent alien invasion film. And history books.
